Why laparoscopic surgery is performed?

Laparoscopic surgery is generally performed to identify and diagnose the source of pelvic and abdominal pain. When traditional (non-invasive) methods are unable to identify, then it is performed. However, there are cases when stomach issues can be identified with imaging techniques, such as ultrasound, computed tomography (CT) scan and magnetic quality imaging (MRI).
When the imaging tests are not able to deliver enough evidence or the insights of the diagnostics, then laparoscopy is performed. The doctors may perform the laparoscopy to take a biopsy or a tissue sample from the abdomen. The doctor may also suggest laparoscopy to examine the following organs.

How laparoscopic surgery is performed?
Laparoscopic surgery is mostly an outpatient procedure; hereafter you can go back to your home on the surgery day. The doctor will give you general anesthesia to undergo this process. In some of the cases, the doctor freezes the procedure area so you don’t feel any pain and stay wide-awake through the process. The doctor makes a small slit below your belly button and inserts the cannula (a small pipe).
It expands your stomach with the carbon dioxide and that makes your abdominal organs more visible to your doctor. The doctor inserts a laparoscope in the inflated stomach through the incision. The high-end camera at the front of the laparoscope sends clear images of the abdominal organs to the doctor’s video monitor. Once the process is done the doctor removes the instruments and closes the slits with stitches or bandages.
